Waterfalls

 Kaieteur is a magnificent high volume waterfall on the potaro river in central guyana.It is 741ft when measured from the its plunge over a sandstone cliff to the first break it then flows over a series of steep cascades that,when included in the measurements,bring the total height to 822ft while many falls have greater height very few have the combination of height and water volume.This has given Kaieteur falls the misleading label of largest single drop waterfall in the world.It is likely one of the most powerful waterfalls in the world volume of water 23,400 cubic feet per second.


Orinduik falls lie on the Ireng river, a highland river that thunders over steps and terraces of jasper on the border with brazil to join the amazon river the falls are situated amid the rolling grass covered hills of the pakaraima mountains Orinduik is ideally for swimming.


Amaila Falls is located on the Kuribrong river (potaro-siparuni region) a tributary of  potaro river in west central guyana the river drops from the escarpment over amaila falls vertically 200ft, and continues in a series of rapids and salls for almost two miles before reaching placid water at a elevation 175 ft the total drop is 1200 ft. During the course of the falls the river changes direction from east to north.


Marshall Falls is just 35 minutes by boat from bartica, past the ruins of the ancient dutch fort.And up the Cuyuni river are the picturesque Marshall falls at the falls visitors can bathe in a natural jacuzzi created by tumbling waters or take a stroll through the surrounding rainforest.


Maipuri Falls is on the Karowrieng river which is a tributary of the upper mazaruni river there is a trail found near the falls that leads to a site of rock paintings.

Salto Oshi falls is commonly known as king george VI salto is a sheer plunge of about 525 feet popular belief,stemming from who knows where this falls is the average width is 100 feet salto oshi is the native name for both the river and the falls. this falls was discovered by Paul zaul in 1938
